A Link to Italian History and Culture

The Gattavecchi's have enjoyed lofty international adoration since the end of the 1940s, crafting wines that radiate a love nurtured by 4 generations of a passion-driven family. Other vines linked to the family can be found in Poggio Alla Sala, a mystical land once inhabited by the Etruscans with boundless beauty, perfect rows of cypress and waterways of ancient memory.

For Luca Gattavecchi, “Quotidiano is a project that links the world of wine to Italian history and culture. It is a window of Italian enology to the world, with a look at the past and the history of this beautiful country told through artistic illustrations and historical facts.” He is also joined by the young and brilliant Lorenzo Paganelli, artistic director of the project.

Thomas O'Neill and Luca Gattavecchi in Montepulciano during the 2018 harvest.

"I have tried to unite Italian culture and history with a good, honest wine that brings together the numerous oenological possibilities of our peninsula. Free of the limitations imposed by regulations, and roaming beyond regional borders and cultural differences, with Quotidiano, I took the liberty of drawing, as a painter does with a perfect palette, a picture that incorporates the many colours, scents and flavours of our beautiful Italy."

Delightfully aromatic. Fresh black fruit, baking spice with a hint of pepper. The palate is slightly more rustic with some underlying fruit; blackberries, black licorice, pepper, cherries and earth. This wine would pair beautifully with aged cheeses, charcuterie, tomato and Mozarella salad or smoked sausage. Chill for 10 minutes before enjoying. Only a few cases remain.
