Coastal Vines
East of Tuscany is Le Marche (mar-kay), a coastal wine-growing region that's cooled by the winds from the Adriatic sea and a series of valleys and rivers that run throughout the area. These moderating effects allow grapes to retain acidity while reaching optimal ripeness.
The jewel grapes of Le Marche are Verdicchio, lemon-sharp with almond notes and widely considered to offer the best value of any white wine in the world, and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, an approachable, juicy red that's fragrant and floral with depth and incredible drinkability.
The underground winery at Filodivino is the beating heart of the estate and creates ideal temperatures for fermentation. Spectacularly designed by architect Cristiana Dell’Acqua, the facility is spread over two floors with the tasting area suspended over the aging area to represent the end of the journey of each bottle, the tasting.
