Pair with Watermelon and the Scent of Sunscreen.
It's officially the most magical time of the year: rosé season, and Grand Cru takes personal responsibility to ensure that you have the perfect bottle of wine for every situation.
The best rosé is young, crisp, dry, and pairs well with all foods at all times. A bottle of rosé can instantly transport you to a Mediterranean oasis, and elevate any experience, whether that’s dining out, at a wedding, a picnic, or a small gathering with close friends.
Rosé gets its distinct pink colour through a production process known as maceration. Red wine grapes are crushed and left to soak with the skins of grapes for 2 hours for a lighter style of rosé, up to 3 or 4 days for a richer, darker pigmentation. The grape skins are then removed and the juice continues to ferment.
By contrast, orange wine is the inverse of rosé wine, made by allowing the juice from white wine grapes to soak and ferment with the skins still on. The length of time that this fermentation process happens can range from a few hours to several months and is what determines the exact shade of orange you’ll see in your glass.
